Repair: Power Strip

Another repair job, another chance to take something apart. Power strips are just a couple duplex outlets parallel together. Taking this one apart, it was obvious why it wasn’t working.

All of the outlets have cracks and were most likely causing the resettable fuse to trip.

Three new duplex outlets and some solid 14AWG later, and the power strip was as good as new. One thing to note was the tabs on the old outlets were soldered together to complete the ground circuit, but I tore the tabs off and looped a single piece of wire around all ground screws.

Short and simple post of a easy to do repair. Thanks for following along be sure to check out more recent posts to the right!
